Changing Timeouts in Outlook
If you are experiencing trouble sending emails in Outlook, but not receiving, you may need to change your timeouts setting in Outlook. Follow the instructions below to change your timeout settings. The images have related text below that detail each step.
In Outlook, click on Tools, then Accounts... or Email Accounts...
1) Click View or change existing e-mail accounts.
2) Click on Next.
1) Find your email account in the list and click on it
2) Click on Change...
Click on More Settings.
Click on the Advanced tab.
1) Drag the sliding bar under Server Timeouts to the right until it is set to 5 Minutes.
2) Click on OK.
Click on Next.
Click on Finish.
Restart the Outlook program
